The word Broadband does have different meanings, the most common usage is to describe any kind of fast Internet connection, which is what I'm going to talk about here. Essex is one of the better places for broadband access in the UK but in my experience I have visited a number of households with very slow internet access either due to their distance from the exchange, line quality or line quality (of telephone extension sockets) in the individual's house. Quite a discrepancy exists between what speeds the ISPs are advertising and what the end consumer is actually receiving.

The warning box was popping up every hour until only 1 hour remained, it was then I took action,  backed things up and installed afresh Windows 7 on two machines at home. This of course was the warning  preceding the bi hourly shutdown of the release candidate, build 7100, which was made available as a try-out to the general public on May 5, 2009. The release candidate fully expires on June 1, this year. It was nice using for free what is undoubtedly the best windows incarnation so far.
